We are here to change the culture of the sports and recreation industry by increasing the spotlight on Sports Medicine services for all sports tournaments and events. In October 2008, we worked with the United States Australian Rules Football League for their National Tournament in Colorado Springs. During event preparation, we had to find Massage Therapists and Athletic Practitioners to work our event. The Athletic Trainers and Emergency Medical Technicians were found first. It wasn’t until three days before the event we had Massage Therapists committed to join us. At this time, the light behind www.nationalsportsmap.com was turned on. Over the next few months we discussed how National Sports MAP can make it easier for organizations to cover their sports events across the United States while still delivering professionalism, excellent quality of service, and knowledgeable practitioners. Our website provides approved athletic practitioners with a professional profile and the capability to receive recommendations from the athletes, a component that allows each individual the opportunity to stand out in the Sports Medicine industry. Every athletic practitioner is different, having different experiences, credentials, and knowledge from the next — and we want the practitioners to share within our community.
